Five Reasons to Meet with Your Senior Photographer BEFORE Your Photoshoot

Senior portraits are a significant milestone in your life. It’s important to be prepared, so you can enjoy your senior photography experience!

1. Build Trust:

You’ll want to feel comfortable and relaxed to get the best pictures. Meeting your photographer ahead of time gives you the opportunity to build trust before your session.

During your pre-session meeting, we’ll discuss your interests and favorite features to focus on what makes you unique during your session. The more I know about you, the more natural your photos will look!

Wherever you choose to have your senior photoshoot, you’ll receive a custom, one-of-a-kind experience with Hello Life Films.  The image shown above was taken at the James D. Pfluger Pedestian Bridge in downtown Austin, Texas.

3. Plan Your Outfits:

An experienced photographer will make wardrobe recommendations based on your personal style and the location of your session. I strongly recommend choosing a variety of looks, including casual, creative, and possibly a formal option.

Our team at Hello Life Films offers professional wardrobe assistance to help you create styled looks for your senior photography session. Our goal is to create unique, original art, and that starts with you looking and feeling your best!

Often, the best place to start when planning your outfits is your own closet. Your favorite outfit is a great way to start your photo shoot, even if it’s a simple look.

If you would like to shop for new clothes, our pre-session consultation is a great time to talk about your ideas. We will recommend colors to wear that complement your skin tone and the locations you choose.

Whether you choose an outfit you already own or shop for new looks, the most important thing is that you feel confident in your outfits. When you feel confident, you’ll enjoy the process more, and the final photos will show it.

4. Hire a Makeup Artist:

This is HUGE!  When you hire a professional makeup artist, you will feel pampered and relaxed. It truly elevates your senior photography experience.

5. Select Products:

The most exciting part of a senior photo shoot is seeing all the pictures after the session!

It’s helpful to meet with your photographer before your session to review their products and pricing. Our most popular products are albums and wall art. We encourage you to see product samples and feel the different paper options for albums before ever stepping in front of the camera. It’s helpful to know the end-product goal before a photoshoot.

These five reasons to meet with your senior photographer before your photoshoot will help you have the best session possible.

WELCOME

I believe senior photography sessions are much more than a quick to-do on your senior year list—they’re a chance to celebrate your senior, just as they are, and build their confidence before they head off into the world. This season moves fast, and capturing who they are right now matters more than you might realize. I create bold, natural portraits that reflect your senior’s personality and become meaningful artwork you’ll be proud to display long after graduation
